Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 cups diced apples
  • oil for frying

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine flour, baking powder, salt, cinnamon, nutmeg, and sugar.
  2. In another bowl, whisk together egg and milk; add to the dry ingredients and mix until just combined.
  3. Fold in the diced apples.
  4. Heat oil in a deep skillet over medium heat.
  5. Scoop batter into hot oil and fry until golden brown on both sides.
  6. Remove and drain on paper towels.
  7. Serve warm, optionally dusted with powdered sugar.
