Authentic Bolognese Sauce

A delicious and easy recipe for Authentic Bolognese Sauce using turkey bacon and beef. Perfect for pasta dishes!

Ingredients

  • 4 slices turkey bacon
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 cup chopped onion
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 can (14 oz) crushed tomatoes
  • 1 tablespoon tomato paste
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon dried basil
  • 1/2 cup red wine
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. In a large skillet, cook the turkey bacon until crispy, then remove and chop.
  2. In the same skillet, brown the ground beef, and drain excess fat.
  3. Add the chopped onions and minced garlic, stirring until the onions are translucent.
  4. Stir in the crushed tomatoes, tomato paste, oregano, basil, red wine, and turkey bacon.
  5. Season with salt and pepper, then let it simmer for at least 20 minutes.
  6. Serve over your favorite pasta.

Notes

  • This sauce can be made in advance and stored for better flavor.
  • Using turkey bacon makes the dish lighter without sacrificing flavor.
