Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for 5 minutes until frothy.
  2. Add flour and salt, mix until a dough forms.
  3. Knead for about 5 minutes until smooth. Let it rise in a warm place for 1 hour.
  4. Preheat oven to 450°F (230°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  5. Divide dough into small balls and shape them into bites.
  6. Boil water with baking soda, and briefly boil each bite.
  7. Place bites on the baking sheet, brush with egg wash, and sprinkle with coarse salt.
  8. Bake for 12-15 minutes or until golden brown.
