  • 4 slices turkey bacon, chopped
  • 1 cup carrots, sliced
  • 1 cup peas
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 cups chicken broth
  • 1 teaspoon thyme
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 cup flour
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 package pie crusts

Instructions

  1. In a crock pot, combine chicken, turkey bacon, carrots, peas, onion, and garlic.
  2. In a bowl, mix broth, thyme, salt, pepper, flour, and milk until smooth and pour over the chicken mixture.
  3. Stir to combine and cover the crock pot. Cook on low for 6-8 hours or high for 4 hours.
  4. About 30 minutes before serving, prepare the pie crust as per package instructions.
  5. Once the chicken is cooked, transfer the filling to a baking dish and top with pie crust.
  6. Bake in a preheated oven at 425°F for 20-25 minutes until the crust is golden brown.

Notes

  • Feel free to add other vegetables like corn or green beans.
  • For a richer flavor, use chicken thighs instead of breast.
