Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a cupcake pan with liners.
  2. In a bowl, mix flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon.
  3. In another bowl, whisk together buttermilk, melted butter, egg, and vanilla.
  4. Combine the wet and dry ingredients until just mixed.
  5. Fill each cupcake liner halfway with batter.
  6. Sprinkle brown sugar and cinnamon mixture over the batter.
  7. Top with remaining batter to cover.
  8. Bake for 18-20 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean.
  9. For the frosting, beat cream cheese and powdered sugar until smooth, then add milk for desired consistency.
  10. Frost the cooled cupcakes and enjoy!
