  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp baking powder

  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup red gel food coloring
  • 1 cup frosting (for decorating)
  • 2 chocolate candies (for fangs)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a cupcake pan with liners.
  2. In a large bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  4. In another bowl, combine flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture, alternating with the milk. Mix until just combined.
  6. Stir in the vanilla and red gel food coloring until the batter is a vibrant red.
  7. Divide the batter evenly among the cupcake liners and bake for 18-22 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  8. Let the cupcakes cool completely before decorating.
  9. Frost each cupcake with the frosting and place two chocolate candies on the top to resemble vampire fangs.

Notes

  • For a more authentic vampire look, try using black frosting for decoration as well.
  • These cupcakes can be made a day in advance; just frost them on the day of your event for best results.
