  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup pumpkin puree
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon (for swirl)
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar (for swirl)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a loaf pan.
  2. In a mixing bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, baking powder, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, cream the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Mix in the pumpkin puree and vanilla extract.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  6. Fold in the chocolate chips.
  7. In a small bowl, combine the cinnamon and brown sugar for the swirl.
  8. Pour half the batter into the prepared loaf pan, sprinkle with half the cinnamon sugar, then add the remaining batter and top with the remaining cinnamon sugar.
  9. Bake for 60 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  10. Let it cool before slicing.
