Jelly Donut Focaccia

A delicious twist on the classic jelly donut, this focaccia brings together the fluffy texture of bread with the sweetness of jelly.

Ingredients

  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 packet active dry yeast
  • 1 cup warm water
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 cup jelly or jam of your choice
  • powdered sugar for dusting

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine warm water and yeast. Let sit for 5 minutes.
  2. Add sugar, olive oil, flour, and salt. Mix until a dough forms.
  3. Knead dough on a floured surface for 5-7 minutes.
  4. Place dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise until doubled in size, about 1 hour.
  5. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  6. Press down the risen dough in a greased baking pan and make dimples with your fingers.
  7. Fill dimples with jelly, cover, and let rest for another 30 minutes.
  8. Bake for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
  9. Remove from oven, cool slightly, and dust with powdered sugar before serving.
