- 8 ounces elbow macaroni
- 1 pound thinly sliced beef
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 onion, sliced
- 1 bell pepper, sliced
- 2 cups cheddar cheese, shredded
- 1 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded
- 2 cups milk
- 3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- ½ teaspoon garlic powder
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
- Cook the macaroni according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
- In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add onions and bell peppers, sautéing until softened.
- Add the beef to the skillet and cook until browned.
- In a separate pot, melt butter and whisk in flour, garlic powder, and black pepper, cooking for 1 minute.
- Gradually add milk, stirring until the sauce thickens. Remove from heat.
- Stir in cheddar and mozzarella cheese until melted.
- Combine cooked macaroni, beef mixture, and cheese sauce in a large bowl. Mix well.
- Transfer to a baking dish and bake at 350°F for 25-30 minutes until bubbly.
