Potato and Sausage Chowder

A hearty and comforting chowder made with creamy potatoes and savory sausage.

Ingredients

  • 4 medium potatoes, diced
  • 1 pound sausage, sliced
  • 1 cup onion, chopped
  • 2 cups chicken broth
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon thyme
  • salt to taste
  • pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. In a large pot, cook the sausage over medium heat until browned.
  2. Add onions and cook until translucent.
  3. Stir in the potatoes, chicken broth, garlic powder, thyme, salt, and pepper.
  4. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer until potatoes are tender.
  5. Stir in heavy cream and heat through before serving.

Notes

  • For a thicker chowder, use a potato masher to mash some of the potatoes after cooking.
