  • 1 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1/2 cup molasses
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, combine flour, ginger, cinnamon, nutmeg, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, beat together the butter and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Add molasses, egg, and vanilla extract to the butter mixture and mix well.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and mix until combined.
  6. Roll the dough into balls and place them on a baking sheet.
  7. Bake for 8-10 minutes or until edges are firm.
  8. Allow cooling before icing.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, let the dough chill in the refrigerator for at least an hour before baking.
  • These cookies can be iced with a simple sugar glaze.
